School Trips

As part of our enriched and engaging curriculum children in all year groups take part in a wide range of educational trips and visits. These carefully chosen experiences help to make learning meaningful and brings our curriculum to life as they make real world connections to their learning.

Year 5 Trip to The SS Great Britain

Year 5 enjoyed a wonderful sunny day visiting the SS Great Britain in Bristol. The children were fascinated as they explored the magnificent ship built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, imagining what life would have been like for passengers and crew many years ago. They also loved discovering the many fascinating exhibits in the museum, learning about the ship’s history and its incredible journeys around the world. One of the highlights of the day was taking part in the interactive workshop, where the children enthusiastically shared their ideas and deepened their understanding through hands-on activities. It was a fantastic day of learning, discovery and fun that everyone will remember for a long time.

Year 3 Trip to Greystones Farm

Greystones Farm is a working farm and site of historical importance. It is set up so that children can experience what it may have been like to live around the period of pre-history during stone age to iron age. Children were able to experience a timeline walk to discover that bears roamed the nearby forests. That people lived in roundhouses and could be in one to see how people used to grind flour to make bread, use wattle & daub to insulate their homes and use natural materials, including flint to make fire. We then walked around the perimeter of the settlement to look at the ramparts and think about how they protected their homes and crops from animals and other tribes. This trip supports the learning in history where the curriculum is stone age to iron age and the next set of Geography lessons about settlements.
